Cyril was born on the 22nd of May 1882, the first son of Cyril Frederick Westropp Jackson of Teignmouth, Devon.
Cyril was at Charterhouse from 1896 until 1899 then at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
In the 1901 census, the Jackson family were living at Charterhouse, Dawlish Road, Teignmouth, Devon. Father, Cyril F W Jackson, was born in India in 1858 and was 'Living On Own Means', Mother, Gertrude Jackson born 1862 in Nailsea, Somerset, England. Cyril had one sister, Alice L Jackson, born 1885 at Hinton Charterhouse, Somerset, England.
