2nd Lieutenant Eric Theodore Woodville Morgan age 23.
Born in Derby the only son of Theodore and Margaret Morgan.
In 1901 Eric was living with his parents in Derby and by 1911 they were all living in Clifton, Bristol.
He was educated at Lausanne and Clifton College. Eric became a schoolmaster at St. Michael’s Lodge, Teignmouth.
During the war his parents moved to Ocean View, Teignmouth, but later moved to Wraxall, Bristol.

Eric enlisted in October 1914 as a private with 19th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, service number RS/1088, entering the war in France on 14 November 1915. He was commissioned in January 1917 and gazetted 2nd Lieutenant to 6th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. He was then attached to 26th Battalion when he was killed in action at the Battle of Menin Road on 20 September 1917.

Gratuities totalling £37.4s.0d were paid in 1917.
“2nd Lt Eric T Woodville Morgan Kia 20th, only son of Mr Theodore and Mrs Margaret of Ocean View. Educated by father and after at Le Closelets school, Lausanne and Clifton college. After leaving school spent a year with father in British Columbia. On return became master at St Michael's Lodge, Teignmouth. Joined Royal Fusiliers in October 1914, on active service in France from Oct 15 to Feb 26 . Sent home with pneumonia from St Omer. Later transferred to a different battalion in RF. In Jan 1927 gazetted 2nd Lt Royal Fusiliers, went abroad at beginning of March and in last letter to parents, wrote ‘I am happy - it is enough’”.
