Private Archibald James Greenslade age 29.

Born in 1888 and baptised on 3 August 1888 at Dunchideock, Devon, son of Samuel, agricultural labourer, and Sarah. In 1891 and 1901 he was shown living with his family at Woolfardisworthy. By 1911 he was living and working for farmer John Salter on his farm at Woolfardisworthy and in 1918 he was shown on the Absent Voter list at Lane End, Woolfardisworthy, Devon.

Archibald married Ethel Elizabeth Gilpin registered in Quarter 2, 1916 at Newton Abbot, she was later shown living at 7 Teign View Terrace, Teignmouth.

He was serving with 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment, service number 204352, when he was killed in action on 18 September 1918.

Buried in Epehy Wood Farm Cemetery, Somme.
