Driver William Alfred Rourke (Rourk) age 21.
Born 1897 the only son of Andrew, a mason, and Emma Rourk of West Teignmouth. The 1901 census showed him living with his parents and sister at 19 Frogmarsh, Teignmouth; in the 1911 census he was with his parents living at 20 Devonshire Place; he was still at school.

At the outbreak of war, aged 17, William joined the local battery of Wessex Royal Field Artillery, service number 1760, where he volunteered for service in India.
He spent four years in India and had malaria six times. William was serving with 1107th Battery, Royal Field Artillery,service number 865950, when he died of pneumonia following influenza on 3 November 1918.
