Private Herbert Loram age 18. Born 1899 in Devon and baptised 14 July 1901 in St Nicholas Church, Shaldon.

Son of Abraham Loram, gardener originally from Cheriton Bishop, by his third wife Ida Mary Heysett of Totnes. The 1901 census finds them living Ringmore Road and in 1911 they are at 16 Middle Street, Shaldon.

Herbert enlisted in Exeter, joining Royal Warwickshire Regiment, service number TR/7/15838.

He transferred to 11th Battalion Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, service number 48233.

Private Loram died at home on 9 March 1918 and is buried in St Nicholas Churchyard, Ringmore.
